Under The Radar Showcase 2014 Reviews and Team's

This year's Under The Radar Showcase was one of the most spectacular basketball events to come to the Twin Cities metro in a long time. Minnesota's talent was on full display during this year's Under The Radar Showcase as a host of the metro area's student athletes gave a show to remember and look forward to for year's to come.

2015 class game

This game was a thrill ride from start to finish as Minnesota's incoming senior class battled it out on the Under The Radar Showcase stage. The Jarvis Johnson vs Marshawn Wilson show was all fans anticipated each displaying their high caliber athleticism and scoring ability. Team Elite would pull off the close win  over Team Hype 74-72 in a nonstop competition.

Jarvis Johnson PG, Team Elite, De La Salle, Pulley EYBL

Jarvis showed why he's consider one of the premier point guard prospects nationally, displaying his great play making ability and high flying dunks. Johnson would take over in the last 5 min of the game scoring 7 of his 12 pts.

Sacar Amin SG, Team Elite, De La Salle, Pulley EYBL

Amin took fight during a few times this game giving Islanders fans a taste of what's to come during this fall at De La Salle. Amin preformed at high level during this year's Under The Radar Showcase finishing with 11 pts, 4 reb, 2 ast helping lead Team Elite to the win.

Grantham Gillard SG, Team Hype, Eden Prairie, D1 Minnesota

Gillard had a strong preformance during this year's Under The Radar Showcase game facing a team loaded with the top prospects in the 2015 class. Gillard was one the top prospects from the 2015 class game finishing with 12 pts.

Kyle McKinley PF, Team Elite, Stillwater, Net Gain

McKinley preformed at high level during this year's Under The Radar Showcase showing great production finishing with 8 pts and 5 reb helping lead Team Hype to the win.

Justin Dahl C, Team Hype, Holy Family, Minnesota Basketball Academy

Dahl was all over the floor making major contributions on both sides of the court finishing with 10 pts, 8 reb and a few monster jams.

Dahl was a major force in the paint for Team Hype, the University of Northern Iowa commit was consistent factor in the post earning this year's Under The Radar Showcase MVP.









Under The Radar Player Of The Game: Marshawn Wilson, Team Hype, Hill Murray

Wilson facing a team that consisted of 4 of the top 10 MYSM prospects in the class and 4 projected starters on next year's 3 time defending champions De La Salle team Wilson met the challenge with a smile. Wilson finished with 22 pts leading all scores and a highlight reel of slam explosive dunks.








2016 class game

This year's Under The Radar Showcase 2016's game was something that Minnesota's high school basketball fans will remember as Team Hype gets the job done with the 72-65 win over Team Elite. Both teams competed at a high level giving everyone one a preview of what to expect from this year's in coming high school junior class.


All Under The Radar Showcase Team

Amar Miller PG, Team Elite, Minnetonka, Pulley's EYBL 16's

Miller was his usual self displaying his high caliber play making and scoring ability during this year's Under The Radar Showcase finishing with 12 pts and 6 ast in the 2016's game.

Jarrett Baptiste G, Team Hype, Columbia Heights, Pulley

Baptiste was one of the most exciting players from this year's Under The Radar Showcase Team. Baptiste finished with 7 pts, but his scoring ability was not why he made the team but his rim rocking jams that got the crowd out their seats.

Steffon Mitchell SF, Team Hype, Shakopee, Fury

Mitchell always competes at high level, doing all the simple things to help get his team the win. Mitchell showed great versatility and production scoring 10 pts, 6 reb, 4 ast helping lead Team Hype to the win over Team Elite. 

Reed Nikko PF, Team Hype, Maple Grove, Net Gain 17s

Kikko was one of the most skilled and top forward prospects from this year's Under The Radar Showcase 2016's game displaying great potential and production finishing with 8 pts, 5 reb with a few monster jams on top.

Brock Bertram C, Team Elite, Apple Valley, Pulley EYBL

Bertram was a dominant force during this year's Under The Radar Showcase 2016's game. Bertram finished with 16 pts, 9 reb and was on of the premier performers during this year's event.

MVP: Jarrett Baptiste, Team Hype, Columbia Heights

Baptiste gave everyone who watched the Under The Radar Showcase 2016's game something to remember with his spectacular aerial attacks on the basket.










Under The Radar Player Of The Game: Teathloach Pal 6'7 F, Team Hype, Fridley, Heat

Pal was ready when his chance came competing at a high level against the top prospects in the class during this year's Under The Radar Showcase 2016's game. Pal finished with 6 pts but also showed he can complete against the top prospects in Minnesota's 2016 class.








2017 class game

This year's Under The Radar Showcase 2017 class game was one of the most anticipated freshman prospects match ups that we have had all summer as the most athletic and top prospects in the class battled it out on the metro's biggest stage. Team Elite would jump out to  Team Elite would end up escaping with the narrow win 49-48.

Kingston Myles G, Team Elite, Tartan, MN Lockdown

Myles was on fire from all over the floor making major contributions to Team Elite's win over Team Hype

Gary Trent Jr SG, Team Elite, Apple Valley,  Pulley's EYBL 16's

Trent played a complete game helping lead Team Elite to the win with his defensive prowess and offensive aggressiveness finishing with 10 pts, 4 reb and the dud.

Jericho Sims F, Team Hype, Cristo Rae

Sims was the definition of a under the radar prospect as he looked as good as any prospect in the class during this year's Under The Radar Showcase 2017's game.

Isaac Johnson SG, Team Hype, Minneapolis North, Pulley

Johnson led all players in scoring finishing with 15 pts scoring 12 in the last 5 min of the game going 4/5 from behind the arc. Johnson was one of the top performers throughout this year's Under The Radar 2017's class game.

Theo John F, Team Elite, Champlin Park, Pulley's EYBL 16's

John was the most impressive forward prospect from this year's Under The Radar Showcase 2017's game controlling the post on both sides of the court. John would finish with 11 pts,  7 reb,  3 blk helping lead Team Elite to the win.

MVP: Gary Trent Jr SG, Team Elite, Pulley's EYBL 16's

Trent was on a mission to win during this year's Under The Radar Showcase 2017's game leading Team to the win. Trent earned the MVP taking on the challenge of guarding Goanar Mar the whole time that they where in the game together.






Under The Radar Player Of The Game: Jericho Sims, Team Elite, Cristo Rae

Sims showed great versatility, skill, potential, production and was one of the biggest surprises of this year's Under The Radar Showcase event. Sim not only could compete with the top prospects . Sims has continued to grow stretching out to about 6'6 since the end of high school basketball season and display a very solid wing skill set. Sims finished with 8 pts, 5 reb, 2 ast as well as hand full of dunks and swatted shots.







2018 class game

This  the 2018 class loaded with potential and as the metro area's top incoming freshman class play a exciting game. Team Elite was ready and waiting as they get the only landslide win of the event defeating Team Hype 72-51.


All Under The Radar Showcase Team


Anders Nelson PG, Team Elite, Edina, D1 Minnesota

Nelson brought his "A" game for this year's Under The Radar Showcase 2018's game helping lead Team Elite to a dominant victory. Nelson showed great potential and production finishing with 13 pts, 5 dimes and a games full of high quality play.

Goodnews Kpegeol SG, Team Hype, North St.Paul, Rice Street

Kpegeol was one of the most versatile and athletic prospects from this year's Under The Radar Showcase showing great upside as one of the top prospects in Minnesota's 2018 class.

Anthony Davis G, Team Elite, Hopkins, MN Lockdown

Davis was on a mission to score early and often helping lead Team Elite to a early jump on Team Hype. Davis showed great explosiveness in the open court as well as high caliber finishing ability around the rim finishing with 12 pts and 3 ast.

Sam Ingoli SF, Team Elite,  Iowa Elite,

Ingoli was one of the most versatile, athletic and skilled prospects from tgis year's Under The Radar Showcase 2018's game. Ingoli finished with 4 pts but was clearly one of the top prospects in the game.Ingoli displayed great skill and athleticism competing in this year's event.

Daniel Oturu F, Team Hype, Cretin Derham Hall, Pulley/Rice Street

Oturu put the other top 2018 class prospects on alert as he was all over the court making plays on both sides of the ball. Oturu looked much improved from early this spring showing great potential and production during this year's Under The Radar Showcase 2018's game finishing with 10 pts, 6 reb, 3 blk. 


MVP: Anders Nelson PG, Team Elite, Edina D1 Minnesota

Nelson not only was one of the leading scores in with 13 pts, he all players in assist with 5 and took over the game in the second half with 8 pts and game winning plays to puch Team Elite to a major win over Team Hype. Nelson possesses a prototype lead guard skill set with his high caliber play making ability.








Under The Radar Player Of The Game: Goodnews Kpegeol, Team Hype, North St.Paul, Rice Street


Kpegeol did not dominant the game they way he has most of the games this spring finishing with 6 pts facing a team loaded with the top prospects in the 2018 class, Kpegeol did demonstrate that he was clearly one of the most athletic and skilled prospects with his preformance during the Under The Radar Showcase 2018's game.
