Howard Pulley Invitational 17U Division Review

The Pulley Invitational is one of Minnesota's premier basketball tournament of the spring.With such prospects as Jimmy Whitt, Justin Dahl, Jarvis Johnson, Dan Tille, Kevin Puryear, Amir Coffey and participating in this years event this plenty of talented players to take note of.

Alex Illikainen PF 2015 Pulley's EYBL

Illikainen the top front court prospect from Minnesota's deep 2015 class, showing great production at the 4 position against some legit competition over this year's Pulley Invitational event. Illikainen finished with 20 pts in a 78-76 win over All Iowa Attack to win the tournament and 11 pts, 7 reb in 82-59 semifinals win over Kingdon Hoops.

Dan Tille SG 2015 All Iowa Attack

Tille was one of the top prospects from this year's Pulley Invitational event, display uncanny shooting range and this ability to take over games from deep, leading his team to the championship game and competing on high level offensively throughout the tournament. Tille finished with 24 pts in 78-76 championship game loss, 28 pts in 68-66 semifinals win over Run GMC and 20 pts in quarterfinals win over Pulley 16's EYBL 64-60.

Jimmy Whitt G 2015 RUN GMC

Whitt showed flashes of his great potential, skill set and athleticism throughout the tournament. Whitt was a factor in the games would expect coaches from a prospect of Whitt's caliber. Whitt finished with 14 pts in 68-66 semifinals loss to All Iowa Attack.

Amir Coffey SG 2016 Pulley's EYBL

Coffey the top prospect in Minnesota's 2016 class, preforming on a high level throughout throughout the tournament, displaying the versatility at his size that make him such a high caliber prospect. Coffey finished with 16 pts, 8 reb, 5 ast in 78-76 championship win over All Iowa Attack and scored 15 pts in a 82-59 semifinals win over Kingdon Hoops.

Kevin Puryear F Run GMC

Puryear was a major factor throughout the tournament, making contributions in the post on both sides of the court. Puryear finished with 16 pts, 11 reb in 68-66 semifinals lose to All Iowa Attack. Puryear showed great scoring instincts around the rim and good athleticism.

Justin Dahl C 2015 Minnesota Basketball Academy

Dahl was one of the most impressive post prospects from this year's Pulley Invitational and was a dominant defensive force throughout the tournament. Dahl was responsible for altering shoots, blocking shoots and guarding the rim at a high level throughout this year's Pulley event.

Jay Schon F 2015 All Iowa Attack

Schon provided a physical inside presence on both sides of the ball for All Iowa Attack throughout this year's Pulley tournament. Schon was a force around the rim finishing around the rim at a high rate. Schon finished with 18 pts in 78-76 championship game loss to Pulley EYBL, scored 18 pts in 68-66 semifinals win over Run GMC and 19 pts in 64-60 quarterfinals win over Pulley EYBL 16's.

Tommy Gathje F 2015 Minnesota Basketball Academy

Gathje was one of the top front court prospects from this year's Pulley Invitational, competing at a high level throughout the tournament. Gathje showed a solid overall wing forward skill set, the ability to stretch the defense with perimeter shooting and finishing around the rim at a high rate. Gathje finished with15 pts in 79-59 quarterfinals lose to Run GMC.

Gary Trent Jr SG 2017 Pulley's EYBL 16's

Trent the top wing prospect in Minnesota's 2017 class, was one of the stand out prospects from this year's Pulley Invitational, playing with aggressiveness on both sides of the ball. Trent had big time performance dropping 24 pts in a quarterfinals lose to All Iowa Attack and 10 pts, 3 stl, in win over Real Athletics. Trent is continues to develop a high caliber skill set to go along with his elite physical attributes.

Sacar Amin SG 2015 Pulley's EYBL

Amin was a factor throughout the tournament providing great defensive versatility guarding multiple positions at a high level and attacking the basket on the offensive end. Amin finished with 12 pts, 4 reb in 78-76 championship win over All Iowa Attack and 17 pts, 5 reb in 82-59 semifinals win over Kingdon Hoops.

Amar Miller PG 2016 Pulley EYBL 16's

Miller display the prototype lead guard play making ability throughout the tournament. Miller finished with 10 pts, 8 ast, 3 reb in a 64-60 quarterfinals loss to All Iowa Attack and 9 pts, 11 ast, 4 reb and the OT game winning shoot over Real Athletics. Miller continues to progress into a high caliber point guard prospect.

Brock Bertram C 2016 Pulley's EYBL

Bertram was one of the most consistent post prospects throughout this year's Pulley Invitational, making major contributions to Pulley's run to the championship game. Bertram finished with 17 pts, 8 reb in 82-59 semifinals win over Kingdon Hoops and 14 pts, 11 reb in win over Magic Elite. Bertram continues to develop into a solid division 1 post prospect.
