MYSM Class 2016 Top 15 Rankings

2016: This class is super stack with high caliber guards and wing prospects. This class is as deep as any of past classes that Metro Youth Sports Media has scouted. This class is packed with potential and will have a major impact this coming 2014 season. This class could up having 20 plus division 1 prospects.

1)  Amir Coffey 6'6 SG Hopkins - One of the nations top guard prospects in the 2016 class and a finalist for the Junior National Team. Started varsity this season on the states premier basketball program and had a impact. Possesses all the physical attributes needed to be a high division 1 guard prospect. Averaging 8.4 points this season. Skilled shooter, elite play making ability, high caliber guard skill set. Can score on all three levels, in the open court and  Coffey is a top 30 prospect nationally, offers from Iowa State, University of Minnesota, Penn State, while drawing great national interest.

 2) Brock Bertram 6'10 C Apple Valley - Started on a state championship team this season. Size, strength, with solid athleticism and feet. Bertram has the size coaches seek out in prospects and you can't teach height. Bertram runs the court well, knows his role controlling the boards and protecting the paint. Averaging 10.0 points and 10.0 rebounds this season.  Bertram stock is rising and is drawing interest from Creighton, California, Iowa, Wisconsin and gaining national attention.


3) Steffon Mitchell 6'4 SF Shakopee - Versatile, skilled, competitive, great athleticism. Played varsity this past season, had a role averaging 5.5 points 3.7 rebounds scoring in 20/23 games this season. Can score on all 3 levels and can guard multiple positions. High impact player, effects the game without the ball, plays at a high level on both sides of the ball, makes his team better and has a complete game. Mitchell is getting some attention and should be drawing interest this fall season.


4) Amar Miller 5'8 PG Minnetonka - High pedigree, elite scoring point guard. Amar has been know to be prolific score at a high level of competition since 5th grade. Amar is only 14, with his skill set and play making ability, he possesses great upside. The evolution of his game has been exclusively a scorer to now prototype point guard, making his team better and distributing the basketball.  The leading freshman scorer in the state averaging 16.7 points, 5.8 assist 7th in the state, while shooting 50 % from behind the arc. One of 3 prospects from the class in Ballers Swagg Elite showcase, feature on Dunkgog and Slam Magazine. Amar's national stock is rising and is drawing interest from Wisconsin and Miami.

5) Jake Dale 6'4 F Mankato West - Crafty, elite post scorer, with great touch around the rim, body control, finishing and solid athleticism. Started varsity this season averaging 13.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.3 assist. Proven scorer on the inside, with solid perimeter skills for a front court player. Dale is as skilled offensively as any prospects in this class.



6)Reed Nikko 6'8 C/PF Maple Grove- Possesses all the physical attributes needed to be a high division 1 recruit. Played junior varsity this past season, for a program that was loaded with varsity level post players. Competitive, good motor, runs the court well on both sides of the ball and finishes around the rim at a high rate. Possesses as much potential as any prospect in the class. Reed's national stock is rising and drawing great interest.



7) Kyle Cappard 6'4 G Blain- Flat out stud, gets to the rim and gets buckets. Excels at slashing into the paint finishing in traffic, making plays for others in the paint and on the perimeter. Possesses great size, strength, athleticism, versatility and upside. Led his junior varsity team in all statistical categories. Attacks the rim and plays with aggressiveness on both sides of the ball. Drawing interest from South Dakota State, Western Indiana, and Wisconsin Green Bay.



8) Luke Harris 6'7 C Northfield - Skilled big, with solid post presence and perimeter shooting. Solid athleticism and feet.  Started varsity this season averaging 10.6 points. Has great upside and possesses many of the physical attributes needed to be division 1 recruit.



9) Jamil Jackson 6'4 SG/SF Metro Tech - High caliber athlete, skilled shooter, jumps out the gym. High pedigree wing, with solid guard skill set. Plays above the rim on both sides of the court, shoots over defenders with great elevation on his jumper. Started varsity this season averaging 13.0  points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks. Skilled from the perimeter shooting 59 % from behind the arc. One of 3 prospects featured in Ballers Swagg Elite showcase. Possesses all the physical attributes needed to be a high division 1 recruit and has one of greatest upsides in the class.

10) Patrick Dembley 5'10 PG Richfield - Prototype point guard skill set, excels at making plays for others in the open court. Elite ball handling and finishing in traffic. One of the 3 prospects from this class to be featured in the Ballers Swagg Elite showcase. Skilled shooter with the ability to penetrate the defense and create for others and can run the offense. Played varsity this season and had a impact averaging 5.5 points. Dembley is one of most skilled guards in the class and has many of the attributes needed to be division 1 guard prospect.



11) Dalante Payton 6'3 SG St.Paul Academy - Versatile, explosive, high caliber athlete with solid guard and perimeter skill set. Started varsity this season averaging 10.7 points. Dalante is at his best when attacking the rim, while being one of the top perimeter defenders in the class. Excels at turning defense to offense and finishing in traffic with contact.






12) Payton Brodry 6'0 G Minneapolis South - Dynamic , explosive, physical, competitive and high impact player. Solid overall guard skill set, dominates his match up every time and is lock down defender. Started varsity this season averaging 14.7 points. Consider the best running back in the class and will be a recruited for that.







13) Cameron Kirksey 6'4 SF Apple Valley - Long, lean, bouncecy, with athleticism and great wing span. Solid perimeter and wing guard skill set. Can play above the rim on both sides of the court and has great upside. Played junior varsity for a state championship program. Kirksey has as much potential as any prospect in this class.





14)Tyler Johnson 6'1 PG Minneapolis North - Excels at slashing to the rim finishing in the open court, finishing in traffic, and turning defense to offense.  Started varsity this season averaging 10.7 points, 6.9 assist and 3.2 steals (In 15 games).  Solid perimeter shooter and play making ability. Johnson possesses many of the physical attributes needed to become a division 1 recruit.

15)  Brain Lankford 6'1 G Cretin Durham Hall - Explosive, dynamic athlete with solid perimeter skills and play making ability. Played varsity this season had role, averaging 5.1 points. Lankford is nightmare one on one on both sides of the ball. Excels at running the court and locking up on the defensive end. Consider one of top running backs in the class and will be recruited for that.
