Metro Youth Sports Media Half season review 2012-13

Metro Youth Sports Media Review of the first half of 2012-13 Minnesota high school basketball season.

Minnesota high school basketball is enjoying someone most talented players to come through Minnesota high school basketball. With the amount of talent spread around the metro area it has made for great high school basketball season. as many teams have show their worthy of competing for state title this year.

This is MYSM ranking Top30 teams in the state have way into the 2012-2013 season this takes into account talent record style of play and head to head matches.

1 De La Salle                 16 Holy Angles
2 Park Center                17 St. Louis Park

The Battle for the Twin Cities
The last 6-7 years Minneapolis city conference has dominated by Washburn as well as Johnson is dominated Saint Paul City conference. Both teams winning state titles during this run  The 2012-13 is a whole new game as Johnson nor Washburn have the lead for the conference title. The race for the Minneapolis City conference title is led by Southwest High School and the Saint Paul to City conference title is led by Highland Park. Could be this year we get a match up other than Washburn vs Johnson in the Twin Cities Championship. It's hard to argue that there is not a battle for the cities going on.

The Classic Lake conference vs Field
The lake conference is the most competitive basketball conference in Minnesota. The lake conference has had representative in the state tournament semifinals each of last 6 years. Lake conference has had 2 teams make the State tournament the last 3 seasons. Lake Conference teams this year have 14  losses total out of conference play, 6 of them coming from Wayzata. Edina, Minnetonka, Hopkins and Eden Prairie all are capable of making runs for the Minnesota State Title this year. Osseo, Apple Valley, Park Center and Roseville all leading their own conferences and will not face the competition that the Classic Lake teams will face during their conference schedule and going into sections. So when it comes to competing for the state title I'll put the odds on a Classic Lake team winning it all.
